Are you getting ready to self-publish your book or submit your manuscript to a publisher?

Before you click that ‘Publish Now’ button or stick that envelope in the postbox, have you made sure that your manuscript is the best it can possibly be? Have you checked that your work has a consistent tone of voice, is structurally sound, has good characterisation and that the story and timeline is consistent throughout?

As writers, quite often we are far too close to our own work to be able to see the problems with it. But if you wish to be taken seriously as an author, it is vital to have your work professionally edited before you submit it for publication, no matter if you’re a fiction or a nonfiction author. Both readers and publishers expect a certain standard of work, and that’s where I come in.

Whether you need help with your story’s structure, overall plot, characterisation or even if you need advice and guidance on a story idea that’s been floating around your brain for a while, I can help no matter how big or small your project is. My editing rates start at £20 an hour, but contact me with an outline of your project and the estimated word count, and I’ll be happy to provide you with a more detailed quote.

Alternatively, if you just need someone to check the spelling and grammar in your manuscript before you submit it, check out my copy editing and proofreading services instead.
